1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup nonself-rising wheat flour
1/2 tsp alum
1 3/4 cups water
1/4 tsp oil of wintergreen
Combine sugar, flour and alum in saucepan. Gradually stir in 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir until mix is clear and smooth. Stir in 3/4 cup water and oil of wintergreen. Makes 1 pint.
