Universal Preschool Conference and Education Expo celebrates the Benefits of Early Childhood Education

More than 2,500 parents, children, preschool providers and educators are expected to gather at the Universal Preschool Conference and Education Expo on Sept. 7 and 8 to celebrate the advantages children gain in life by attending preschool. Participants in the two-day event will discuss, share, explore and learn more about the best methods and resources available to better prepare children for kindergarten and beyond.

Organized by Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District's Early Childhood Education Division, this first-time event is open to a variety of current and relevant information on topics of interest to early childhood experts, policymakers and preschool advocates. Additional hands-on workshops will be offered to parents and preschool providers to present them with real-life examples and tips on how to improve the preschool experience for children and their families.

Renowned and accomplished experts on a variety of preschool and early childhood education-related topics that include literacy, reading, math, science, art, music and more will lead the workshops.

Classes offered to preschool teachers, parents and others will include:

  • Lizards and Turtles and Snakes, Oh My! Frogs and Bugs, Too!
  • Math Games at Home.
  • I Am Moving, I Am Learning: A Proactive Approach for Addressing Childhood Obesity
  • Creative Construction with Materials We Have on Hand (Recycled/Re-used).

Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept. 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Los Angeles Convention Center, West Wing -- Petree Hall, 1201 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles.
